Prithvi Shaw requests NOC from Mumbai Cricket Association to join new team ahead of next season

Former India opener Prithvi Shaw has written to the Mumbai Cricket Association informing them of his decision to move on ahead of the upcoming domestic season. Shaw, who last played for Mumbai in the final of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024, has requested the MCA to get an NOC to join a new team.
"I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for the valuable opportunities and unwavering support extended to me during my time representing the association," Shaw wrote in his letter to the MCA. "It has truly been an honor and a privilege to be part of the MCA setup, and I am deeply grateful for the exposure and experience I have gained here.
"At this juncture in my career, I have been presented with a promising opportunity to play professional cricket under another State Association, which I believe will further contribute to my growth and development as a cricketer. In light of this, I kindly request you to issue me a No Objection Certificate (NOC) that will enable me to officially represent the new State Association in the upcoming domestic season," he explained.
Shaw made his first-class debut for Mumbai with a splendid second-innings century in their six-wicket win over Tamil Nadu in the semifinal of the Ranji Trophy 2016-17 season. From then on, he has played a total of 58 matches scoring 4556 runs at an average of 46.02 including 13 hundreds and 18 fifties. In limited overs, he has a tally of 6301 runs from 182 matches, ODIs and T20s combined, with 11 hundreds and 34 fifties.
Shaw also made his debut for the Indian senior team with a century against West Indies in October 2018 before going on to play four more matches to accumulate 339 runs at an average of 42.37. But the batter has gone down the pecking order for Mumbai after being dropped from the Ranji Trophy team due to fitness and disciplinary issues last year.
After winning the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last year, which was his last appearance for Mumbai in a professional match, Shaw was also dropped from the subsequent Vijay Hazare Trophy squad.
