Some batters are very difficult to bowl to with their range of shots and Suryakumar Yadav exactly showed why he is one among them. After getting hit for four and two sixes, Dushmantha Chameera came up with the perfect yorker but to his horror found the ball easily guided to the fence.

‌In a must-win game, Mumbai Indians started on a positive note against Delhi Capitals reaching 54/2 at the end of the powerplay at the Wankhede Stadium. But with the surface taking spin and grip, all the batters, including Suryakumar Yadav, struggled throughout the middle phase with only 47 runs coming in the eight overs of Kuldeep Yadav and Vipraj Nigam.

But, Surya was experienced enough to play the waiting game as he waited for DC skipper Faf du Plessis to bring his pacers back. With MI having only 132/5 on the board at the end of the 18th over, any batter would have panicked thinking of an under par total. But not SKY as he joined with Naman Dhir to pull the home side out of trouble.

The pair hit three sixes and two fours to plunder 27 runs off Mukesh Kumar’s final over. The Indian T20 skipper carried the momentum into Dushmantha Chameera’s final over with two sixes and a four off his first four balls. With all other options exhausted the Sri Lankan pacer fell back to the toe crusher.

But SKY, who was looking in terrific touch read it in advance and just guided the ball past the keeper with his bat acting as a hockey stick. Twitteratti could not believe their eyes as the shot resembled an assist during a penalty corner exercise in hockey and MI soared to 180/5 with 48 runs in the last two overs.
