West Indies Women to score high before first dismissal
Hayley Matthews and Qiana Joseph are West Indies Women’s long-standing, reliable opening duo and they were quite powerful together in their last ODI series against Bangladesh Women. In the three-match series, they secured first wicket partnerships of 45, 11 and 163 runs before the first dismissal. Moreover, Scotland Women’s bowling attack is not strong enough to topple them quickly and the pair have the potential to be explosive which puts them in a brilliant position to achieve a high opening total.
A single ODI was held at Lahore City Cricket Association Ground in the past and it was a youth match between Pakistan U19s and West Indies U19s. The former elected to bat first on home turf and were able to pile on a total of 192 runs. The surface was quite batting friendly and the chasing side found it difficult to put up runs on the board, resulting in a 71-run win for the hosts. Based on the outcome, the toss winning skipper of the next game will want to bat first as well.
Overcast conditions are expected at Lahore but with a minimal 10% possibility of rainfall, and the temperature is predicted to go up to 36 degrees Celsius.

Scotland Women owe a great deal of their success in the ODI Tri-Series to opener Saskia Horley, and her absence in this tournament could affect the team a lot.
West Indies Women and Scotland Women have met just once in the ODI format during the International Women's Cricket Council Trophy in 2033 where the former won by a margin of ten wickets.

West Indies Women to have a better opening partnership than Scotland Women
Saskia Horley and Abbi Aitken-Drummond’s partnership for Scotland Women during the ODI Tri-Series was not impressive in the slightest as the duo secured totals of 4, 12 and 0 in the last three matches. Needless to say, they do not compare to West Indies Women’s openers at all considering Hayley Matthews and Qiana Joseph added 45, 11 and 163 runs to the first wicket in the last ODI series against Bangladesh Women. There is absolutely no contest between the sides and it is quite evident that West Indies Women’s openers are far superior in this regard.
