Chelsea now rely on Robert Sanchez, with Filip Jorgensen also in contention for the starting spot.
Within the coming days, Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic is expected to complete a move to Premier League rivals Bournemouth. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Serbian shot-stopper has agreed to join Andoni Iraola’s side, who are actively searching for a replacement after Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan stint ended and he joined Arsenal permanently.
Petrovic initially signed for Chelsea in 2023 following his impressive performances with New England Revolution in Major League Soccer. He featured in 31 games during the 2023–24 season under Mauricio Pochettino before being loaned out to Strasbourg. There, he registered 10 clean sheets and helped the Ligue 1 side finish a respectable seventh.
Although Sunderland had reportedly reached a £21 million agreement with Chelsea, and Turkish champions Galatasaray showed serious interest, Petrovic chose Bournemouth as his next destination after Galatasaray failed to meet Chelsea's valuation. Chelsea, now managed by Enzo Maresca, appear ready to approve Petrovic’s exit, with Robert Sanchez remaining the first-choice keeper and Filip Jorgensen also making strong impressions during the team’s Conference League triumph.
