Arsenal’s €55m bid for Viktor Gyokeres was rejected by Sporting CP, who want around €80m. Arsenal are preparing an improved €70m offer, while Manchester United have submitted a €60m plus €10m add-ons package. Gyokeres, who scored 54 goals in 52 games this season, remains undecided amid public disputes between Sporting and his agent.

For the summer 2025 transfer window, Viktor Gyokeres has emerged as a top target for both Arsenal and Manchester United. The Swedish striker, who enjoyed a sensational season with Sporting CP by scoring 54 goals in 52 appearances and helping the club secure a domestic double, is at the center of a bidding war between the Premier League giants.

Arsenal had their opening offer of €55 million plus €10 million in add-ons rejected by Sporting, who are reportedly holding out for closer to €80 million despite Gyokeres' €100 million release clause. Arsenal are now preparing an improved bid worth around €70 million including bonuses, and optimism is growing within Gyokeres' camp that an agreement could soon be reached. Meanwhile, Manchester United have also submitted a rival bid consisting of €60 million upfront and €10 million in add-ons.

However, their lack of European football next season could be a stumbling block in convincing the 26-year-old striker. Sporting president Frederico Varandas criticized Gyokeres’ agent for leaking transfer valuations and denied any promise to sell the player for €60 million. In response, Gyokeres took to Instagram stating that most of the circulating information is false and that he will address the matter in due time.
