The former Singapore player is seen as a T20 specialist with the experience of playing for a number of leagues all over the globe with a tally of 5339 runs from 281 matches, including 18 fifties. The 29-year-old batter played a key role for the Kings when they reached the finals of CPL 2021 finishing as the third-highest run-getter with 282 runs from 11 innings at an average of 35.25 and a strike rate of 146.11.
However, his returns have dwindled post that as he managed just 171 runs in 10 innings the next two editions of the CPL averaging just 19.00 across both years. David was part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru squad that recently won their maiden Indian Premier League title earlier this month. He played the finisher role to perfection with 187 runs at an impressive average of 62.33 and striking at 185.14 during the group stage before missing the playoffs with an injury.
St Lucia Kings will, however, miss the services of Faf du Plessis who led them to their maiden CPL title last year. The former Proteas batter has decided to prioritise the Hundred over the CPL this year and will represent Southern Brave in England. The veteran opener was prolific for the Kings with the bat too, scoring 405 runs from 12 matches last year.
