Harry Kane proved his world-class status by scoring twice in Bayern Munich’s 4-2 win over Flamengo in the 2025 Club World Cup Round of 16. Despite an expected goals deficit of 0.85 to 1.99, Kane’s clinical finishing stood out, reminding Bayern of his value amid talks of signing Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade.

When it comes to striker recruitment, Bayern Munich are leaving no stone unturned. The Bavarian giants are actively evaluating their attacking options as they plan to add a second striker to an already impressive lineup. Recent reports suggest that the club is closely monitoring Stuttgart forward Nick Woltemade. The 23-year-old, known for his height, dribbling ability and versatility, has attracted significant attention.

Bayern reportedly face a transfer ask of around €60 million to €70 million for Woltemade. This comes after missing out on Florian Wirtz, leaving a sizeable gap of approximately €100 million in their budget. Simultaneously, Harry Kane has been in outstanding form for Bayern at the FIFA Club World Cup. His performance in the Round of 16 against Flamengo clearly demonstrated his finishing power, as he made the most of his opportunities.

Kane scored 36 goals in his first Bundesliga season and 26 in his second and his ability to convert chances consistently set a high standard and helped define Bayern’s attacking style following the departure of Robert Lewandowski. While Kane has established himself as an indispensable part of the team, Bayern’s pursuit of new talent like Woltemade reflects their commitment to long-term rejuvenation. The club is considering all options to maintain a competitive edge on both the domestic and European stages.
