Jaiswal takes U-turn on Goa NOC to stick with Mumbai

Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to continue playing for Mumbai and has had his request accepted by the state cricket association. The opener had filed for an NOC previously to transfer to Goa for the 2025/26 domestic season but has since decided to represent his childhood state team.
Indian star opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has decided to continue to play for Mumbai in the domestic circuit in the 2025-26 season. The young opener in April 2025 had reportedly requested a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and seemed to be set to play for Goa in the upcoming season.
It turns out the 23-year-old opener had then requested to withdraw the NOC, which the MCA has now accepted. The news was confirmed by MCA president Ajinkya Naik, who also claimed that Jaiswal is a proud product of Mumbai Cricket through a press release. Jaiswal had also stated that he made plans to relocate to Goa with his family. However, it turns out that the Rajasthan Royals star will be playing another season with Mumbai.
“Yashasvi has always been a proud product of Mumbai cricket. We have accepted Jaiswal's withdrawal NOC application, and he will be available for Mumbai in the forthcoming domestic season,” the MCA President stated.
Yashasvi Jaiswal has been playing for the Mumbai team since his U-19 days, representing the side in 39 first-class and 33 List-A matches. He averages above 50 in both formats as well. The opener has scored 14 first-class centuries and five List-A centuries for the team, and has been among the top performers in domestic cricket.
Jaiswal has achieved a lot of success in international cricket as well, especially in the red-ball format, scoring 1,903 runs in 20 games at an average of 52.86. He played his latest game against England at Headingley, Leeds where he scored 101 runs off 159 deliveries. This was his fifth Test century overall and his first on English soil. He was also a part of the Indian team that won the 2022 Asian Games and the 2024 T20 World Cup in West Indies and USA.
