AUS-C vs WI-C, Preview | Aussie and Caribbean Champions look for first win of WCL 2025

Australia Champions and West Indies Champions will be battling each other in game seven of the World Championship of Legends 2025 on July 23 at the County Ground in Northampton. While both teams search for their first win, Windies will be eyeing redemption after last year's thrashing.
The stage is set for game number seven of the second season of World Championship of Legends, which will be played between Australia Champions and West Indies Champions. This is the moment where the fans can finally relive the battle between some of the biggest legends in the game. One of the battles in the upcoming game to watch out for is between Australia’s most feared pacers in Brett Lee and Universe Boss Chris Gayle, who will also be leading their respective sides in this competition.
Though the last season saw both teams finishing as semi-finalists, the two teams have had a disappointing start this year. The Aussie legends were unlucky in their last game, as their game against the England Champions was called off due to rain, especially when they were in a good position during the match. The Caribbean Kings, on the other hand, lost a close-fought battle in a shortened game against South Africa Champions in Birmingham, where they ended up second best in the bowl-out, making this a game where both sides will be looking for their first win in the tournament.
There is no doubt that the Aussies will be confident against the Windies in the encounter, considering how the last game between the two teams ended but the island nation will also have something to prove after suffering a heavy defeat in the high-scoring fixture in the inaugural season where the Men in Yellow not only gave them a 55-run thrashing but also went on to achieve the highest total of 274/7 in the tournament. This game will be the perfect opportunity for the West Indians to earn their redemption.

Pitch and Weather
The County Ground has been known to have a surface where the pacers manage to get a lot of seam movement and bounce with the new ball, while the spinners also get a lot of grip. Chasing down totals has been a challenge at this venue. The team batting first has been victorious on 69 occasions, while the team batting second has won only 48 times in the 126 T20 games played on this surface.
The conditions at Northampton are expected to be overcast, and though the skies might be cloudy, there are very low chances for rain.
Team News
Australia Champions are expected to be playing with the same playing XI and hope they get an opportunity to perform after their first game was rained out.
West Indies Champions might also continue to back their playing XI, despite facing a heartbreaking loss in their last game, since the team showed a lot of fight and promise.
