ENG vs IND | Twitter reacts as Siraj sledges Duckett's wild hack and miss with passive aggressive comment

Mohammed Siraj bowled several wicket-taking balls but was left frustrated against England on Day 5 at Headingley

England has for long expanses of its history been a happy hunting ground for pacers and consequently been a hotbed of sledging incidents. The modern era India team has added to that folklore in recent tours and Leeds on Tuesday was no exception as Mohammed Siraj cheekily drilled into Ben Duckett.

India saw themselves rapidly heading towards an embarassing defeat at Headingley on Tuesday as Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley quickly chipped away at the imposing target of 471. By the time rain interrupted play midway through the second session, the opening pair had already stitched together a partnership of 181 and were already halfway to the promised land. Even multiple spells from Jasprit Bumrah and a probing effort from Mohammed Siraj were not enough to buy the visitors breakthroughs, with Duckett completing a sensational ton shortly after Yashasivi Jaiswal let him slip at deep square leg. Left enraged with the missed opportunity, Siraj had no option but to adopt the last resort -- sledging.

In the 41st over, Siraj's first after Duckett had been dropped, the southpaw tried to muscle a full third delivery back down the ground. However, the red cherry seamed away sharply after pitching wide of the stumps and left Duckett looking silly with both his feet adjacent deep inside the crease. Siraj could not help but flash a wide smile as he walked up to Duckett and politely enquired, "T20 mode?" Once Duckett got the hang of what was being said after two three prompts, he offered a riposte of his own before the duo walked away laughing -- the beam on Siraj's face betraying cunningness while Duckett looked slightly agitated.

Twitterati was not one to complain.
