MLC 2025 । Short stand tall and delivers effortless blow over Kenjige's head

Matthew Short's heroics helped San Fransico Unicorns outplay MI New York by 47 runs and continue their unbeaten dominance in the ongoing MLC 2025. With this win in a high-scoring affair in Dallas, the Unicorns also strengthened their spot in the tournament standings, winning all five matches so far.
Besides the game going completely in favour of the Unicorns, what caught the attention of the fans and attracted eyeballs was the effortless and elegant six smashed by Short off Nostush Kenjige to leave everyone awestruck. The moment came on the first ball of the fourth over when Kenjige bowled a fuller length delivery, and the SF skipper played it inside the line of the ball, clipping it aerially to hit an eye-pleasing straight six. Short scored 17 runs off just four balls of this over to leave the MINY pacer clueless.
Speaking of Short’s match-winning knock, he smashed 91 runs off just 43 balls, smashing nine fours and five sixes. However, he missed a well-deserved century by a margin of just nine runs when the veteran MINY all-rounder Kieron Pollard trapped Short in a fuller length pace off delivery between the middle and leg stump. Eventually, the 29-year-old flicked it to the widish long-on region, where Heath Richards made no mistake in completing a comfortable catch. The Unicorns’ skipper also won the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his decisive and match-winning knock to help his side register fifth consecutive win in the tournament’s current edition.
Matt Short's just flirting with that century 😩 Cricket titan Kieron Pollard took him out at 91 runs. 🚫
