Rishabh Pant’s indifferent season with the bat had sneaked through to his captaincy as was evident in his review of a wide delivery for a caught-behind. After his disastrous innings with the bat, he messed up with the DRS call too in the second innings of the LSG vs SRH match at the Ekana Stadium.

‌Rishabh Pant’s woes in the IPL 2025 season seems never-ending as problems continue to chase him one after the other. After getting dismissed cheaply again, he messed things up again going for a review in the third over bowled by Akash Deep. Chasing 206, SRH were already one down for 39 when the pacer ran in to bowl the last ball.

Akash bowled a short of the length delivery trying to strangle Ishan Kishan down the leg. The southpaw brought his bat to play it down but missed it completely but the LSG skipper was confident in his appeal for caught behind. The umpire did not budge and just as the timer was running down Pant hesitantly took the review.

As the square leg umpire walked down to indicate that time was already out Pant pointed to Ishan Kishan mentioning that he delayed it thinking the batter had taken it for a wide. But then they allowed Pant’s review only for him to find out that there was not a shade of the bat on the ball.

Twitter could not help but laugh as Pant hid his blunder with a sheepish smile and play continued.
