As the 2025/26 season approaches, Chelsea are considering a £69 million move for RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons, with uncertainty surrounding Christopher Nkunku’s future. Nkunku has made his desire to leave clear, and although no deal is advanced yet, Chelsea are preparing for a potential exit. Manchester United and Bayern Munich have shown interest in the Frenchman, but neither club has firmed up an offer. In response, Chelsea are tracking multiple attacking options.
Xavi Simons, 22, is a priority target who can play as a No.10 or on either wing. Simons hinted in April that he may leave Leipzig this summer, fueling speculation. While the German club values him at €80 million (£69.3m), Chelsea are expected to negotiate a lower fee. Alongside Simons, Chelsea also admire Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers, though Villa are reluctant to sell unless offered around £80 million.
Meanwhile, Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho has also been linked as he looks for a move away from Old Trafford. Chelsea are under no pressure to sell Nkunku, but their pursuit of Simons and others highlights a proactive strategy to strengthen Enzo Maresca’s squad for the new campaign amid key player changes.
