When the Club World Cup 2025 clash between Bayern Munich and Flamengo kicked off at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, it was Harry Kane who stole the show. Bayern won 4-2 in a high-paced battle, setting up a blockbuster quarter-final with Paris Saint-Germain. Flamengo, who had stunned Chelsea earlier, put up a spirited fight but were undone by Bayern’s ruthlessness in key moments.
The German champions took the lead in just six minutes through an own goal by Erick Pulgar. Kane added a second in the 9th minute with a deflected long-range strike and later sealed the win in the 73rd minute, scoring his second of the night. Leon Goretzka also got on the scoresheet, making it 3-1 before half-time. Flamengo responded through Gerson (33') and a Jorginho penalty (55') but couldn’t match Bayern’s clinical finishing.
Despite registering more shots and creating several chances, including a brilliant effort by Luiz Araújo that was denied by Manuel Neuer, Flamengo were left ruing defensive lapses. Their coach Filipe Luís praised his players but admitted Bayern were a "colossus." Kane credited Bayern’s composure and efficiency, stating, “We took our moments very well.” Bayern’s victory now sets up a heavyweight showdown with PSG in the next round.
