Premier League Partners with Microsoft to Launch AI-Powered Fan Experience

The English Premier League has signed a five-year deal with Microsoft to integrate AI into its app, website, and Fantasy Premier League. Fans can access 300,000 articles, 9,000 videos, and stats from 1992 onward. Microsoft also becomes the league’s cloud partner, replacing Oracle, aiming to enhance global fan engagement and match insights.

When the English Premier League announced its new five-year partnership with Microsoft in July 2025, it signaled a major leap forward in using technology to connect with football fans and through this deal, Microsoft’s advanced AI tools, including Copilot and Azure AI, will be integrated into the Premier League’s app, website, and fantasy football platform.

Fans will now be able to explore a massive collection of over 300,000 articles, 9,000 videos, and detailed stats dating back to the league’s beginning in 1992 and the future updates will also include features like translating content into different languages, making the experience more personal and accessible for a global audience.

Microsoft also becomes the league’s new cloud computing partner, replacing Oracle. EPL CEO Richard Masters said the aim is to offer real-time insights and tailor-made content to fans. Microsoft’s Judson Althoff added that the partnership will change how football is experienced both on and off the pitch.

The Premier League is already the most-watched football league in the world, broadcast in 189 countries and reaching 900 million homes. Before the season kicks off on August 15, fans can enjoy exhibition matches in the U.S. during the Summer Series, starting July 26 at MetLife Stadium.
