ENG vs IND | Twitter in splits as Bumrah mocks fourth umpire after being asked to step away from pitch

Jasprit Bumrah has been seen as someone who speaks his mind and the pacer was at it again ahead of the start of the third Test against England. The fourth umpire was not impressed as the pacer walked in to check the square with spikes and came up with a cheeky response when asked to move away.

‌With the series squared up at 1-1 and the action moving to Lord’s, Jasprit Bumrah made his return into the playing eleven for the third Test in London. Bumrah replaced Prasidh Krishna as England opted to bowl in bright and sunny conditions.

The pacer, after marking his runup, made a customary walk to the square to get some cues on how the wicket would play. Just as he stood on the edge of the wicket, getting a feel of the surface, the fourth umpire took note and immediately asked the Mumbai Indians pacer to move away since he wore spikes.

Bumrah obliged, but not before making a cheeky response to the match official. The pacer brought his foot over the surface as he stood on one leg to irk the match official. The official once again warned Bumrah as his shadow fell on the centre of the wicket. He then took a step behind before making his way out of the restricted area.

Later on, during the match, Anil Kumble recollected another incident from the 1990s where players were not even allowed to step onto the ground on the day before the game. Kumble explained how the players were denied to take the shortcut through the ground to make their way to the Nursery Ground for practice.

Twitter was in shock, realising how time has flown as players make their way straight to the middle in present times.
